Diwali - Festival of Light (8 November)
Just before the deserved school break - the Project Week - we celebrated Diwali in MUWCI. As always RKHS team made a really good job! All the wadas and main buildings were decorated with the traditional Diwali motifs. In the evening we had special dinner, held outside the Caf, with variety of Indian food. Dinner was followed by the Diwali show prepared entirely by students. It was the opportunity to watch classical Indian dance and performances practiced during activities which happen every week in MUWCI (CAS).
Project Week (24 Mar to 1 Apr)
MUWCI World Cup (10-18 March)
Asia, Africa, Europe and America gathered on the football field for the Muwci Football World Cup. The two weekend affair saw some highs and lows and produced some fine individual and team football as well as some not so fine football. Largely, though, the tournament was played in good spirit as is the most important thing.
Regardless of wealth, race, caste, gender or any other social distinction, we are all equal on the football pitch. This is why I believe in the beautiful game as a tool to build bridges in society. It works. At our college we have countless cultures which produce an incredible diversity in style of play.
Result:
Asia beat America on Penalties to finish 3rd
Africa 3 - 2 Europe.
Africa Win
Golden Boot Award: Renaud (8 goals)
The tournament was a success. It was fun and friendly. If we all saw our enemies as team-mates then perhaps instead of playing with guns and bombs, we'd just play football.
Holi (2 March)
Holi is a complete change of our view of cleanliness. Being a festival of colors, it's a good change which comes with a lots of colors (obviously) and a mud bath. The whole campus celebrated the festival with great gusto, and everyone had their good share of fun as well as clothes that would never to be clean again!
